Having run away from her deaf son Frankie’s violent father, his mother Lizzie has since written him letters posing as the dad describing his adventures at sea aboard the HMS Accra. Frankie has been tracking his “progress” and finds that he is to dock in their hometown soon. Lizzie must decide between telling him the truth or finding someone to play his father for one day.
