This fictional story is loosely based on the life of Jackie Kallen, the first and most famous female boxing promoter. Meg Ryan plays the tough woman struggling to get ahead in an all boys club. She eventually finds a young kid from Detroit whom she leads all the way to middleweight champion of the world.
