Superstar rapper Eminem stars in this story loosely based on his own life. Set in Detroit at the city limit known as 8 Mile, white rapper Jimmy Smith, Jr. finds himself physically and psychologically trapped in a bleak and difficult world. He finds the only way to transcend his present situation is through words and music.
