In this remake of the 1989 French thriller FORCE MAJEURE, a tourist (Joaquin Phoenix) is imprisoned and sentenced to death on drug charges in Southeast Asia after the two friends who had been vacationing and doing drugs with him return home. A reprieve is possible, but only if the friends return to the Asia and serve three years in the third world jail.
