Football head coach Bud Kilmer (Jon Voight) leads his West Canaan Coyotes to their 23rd division title. As long as the team is winning, Kilmer is revered in the small Texas town. But when star quarterback Lance Harbor (Paul Walker) suffers a season-ending injury, the Coyotes must regroup under the questionable leadership of second-string quarterback Jonathan Moxon whose irreverent attitude to football conflicts with the coach’s inflexible game plan.
