Based on the book written by veteran actor/director Mario Van Peebles, this haunting, true-to-life film tells the story of the Black Panthers for Self Defense, an armed political movement formed by two young militants, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale, in the ghettos of Oakland, California in 1966.
