THE INKWELL

Larenz Tate, Joe Morton, Suzanne Douglas, Glynn Turman

Touchstone Pictures; Directed by Matty Rich

Rated R; 110 minutes; 1994

This coming-of-age story chronicles a young black teenager’s growing experiences one summer. Similar in style to the classic SUMMER OF ‘42, THE INKWELL examines an aspect of the black experience previously unexplored while re-creating the fads, music, and styles of the 1970s in a light-hearted manner.
