Harvey Cheyne (Freddie Bartholomew), a spoiled rich boy, falls from a passenger liner and is rescued by Manuel (Spencer Tracy), the captain of a Gloucester fishing vessel. During his voyage on the fishing boat Harvey learns the hard way that friendships are made—not purchased. A fine cast highlights this adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling story.
