A big, splashy musical that actually exhilarates the way it's supposed to. The script, by Sidney Sheldon (from Ben Hecht's book for the Broadway show) is a great mixture of laughs and heart-tugs and the cast, Doris Day, Jimmy Durante, Stephen Boyd, and Martha Raye play it pitch-perfectly (Day even did her own stunts on the trapeze).
