HANNA'S WAR is the untold story of Hanna
Senesh: a heroine, a warrior, a humanitarian. In this true story based on
"The Diaries Of Hanna Senesh" and the book, A Great Wind Cometh,
by Yoel Palgi, Dutch actress Maruschka Detmers is Hanna, a young
Hungarian-born Jewish girl who, while attending school in Palestine, signs on
as a resistance fighter during World War II. During an effort to re-enter
Hungary and help the 800,000 Jews who had sought refuge there, she is captured
and brutaly tortured by German-controlled Hungarian officials. Her powerful
spirit and perseverance kept her alive and the secrets of her comrades revealed
as she became a national heroine.
