The student body at an all-black college has become increasingly fractionalized over whether or not the university should divest its holdings in apartheid-ridden South Africa. Further polarization is occurring within the fraternity-sorority groups regarding this issue, and the predominantly light-skinned group and the darker-complexioned independents are at odds both inter-racially and politically. The film, in a comical way, illustrates how tension is caused by tradition and custom of a race's mores and folkways.
